How-to Microphone Flag

Step One: Measure & Cut Project Box

  • 1) Cut 2 1/4″ off of the project box. This is the main part of the microphone flag.
  • 2) Cut 1/4″ off the remaining part of the project box. This is the top of the microphone flag.
  • 3) Cut 2 1/2″ off of the project box lid. This is the lid for the microphone flag.

Step Two: Glue

  • 1) Glue the top to the bottom of the cut project box.
  • 2) Clamp these two pieces together.
  • 3) Do not glue the lid as this will be held on with screws.

Step Three: Time

  • 1) Wait 5 minutes for epoxy to set. Overnight would be best if you can spare the time.

Step Three: Drill

  • 1) Find the center of the top and bottom of the microphone flag.
  • 2) Drill a hole in the center of the top and bottom of the microphone flag with the large drill bit.
  • 3) Drill a hole in the center of the top and bottmo of the microphone flag with the paddle drill bit. The diameter of the paddle bit should be slightly larger than the handle of the microphone.

Step Five: Prepare the Foam

  • 1) Cut 4-5 squares of foam to fill the inside of the microphone flag. It should be snug.
  • 2) Cut a hole in each foam square the is smaller than the microphone handle.
  • 3) Place the foam into the microphone flag.
  • 4) Place lid on and seal with screws.

Step Six: Finish the Project

  • 1) Place the labels on each side of the microphone flag.
  • 2) Place microphone into the flag and you are done.
